ながら - while doing ~

〜ながら

Says the same person does two things at the same time, with one being the main action.

Explanation

Attaching ながら to a verb's stem means "while doing that verb." Both actions must share the same subject, and the verb that ながら attaches to is treated as the background action, while the main verb of the sentence is what the speaker treats as the primary focus.
